Mandatory Site Safety Training (SST) required for all members !!

Brothers and Sisters,

In March of 2018, Local Law 196, a law requiring safety training for all workers on any construction site that requires a site safety plan went into effect. Almost all of the jobsites that Local 79 members are working fall under this requirement.

As of this writing, on June 1, 2019, all Local 79 workers will be required to have a    Limited Site Safety Card.

There are three ways of qualifying for this card:

What: Join members of Local 79 to help clean up Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens.

When: Sunday, June 9, 2019 –  Breakfast at 8:15 am. Cleanup project begins after breakfast. Lunch served after the cleanup is finished.

Where: Take the #7 train to Mets – Willets Point station. Walk down the boardwalk and meet at the Passerelle Circle at the entrance to the park.
