In an effort to understand the varied childcare needs of Local 79 members, Local 79 is working with The Worker Institute at Cornell to carry out an online survey. Local 79 members have received or will receive a letter shortly explaining the importance of the survey and encouraging members, especially those with children under 18, to spend the time necessary to fill out the survey. All information provided on the survey is completely confidential. The easiest way to access the survey is to click on one of the following: Survey in English or Survey in Spanish
Local 79 asks that all members, especially those who have children under the age of 18 fill out the survey. As members will see in the letter, six random members who complete the survey will receive gift cards for $120.
New York City offers a number of free childcare referral services that can assist parents in finding the type of childcare they need. In some cases, parents may be able to receive subsidies if they meet income qualifications.
