Business Manager Mike Prohaska was honored at the September fundraiser of H.E.A.R.T. 9/11, an organization made up of union firefighters, policemen and construction workers that volunteer to help those in need of emergency aid response. Hundreds of Local 79 members have been HEART 9/11 volunteers over the years and have gone on countless trips to Haiti, Ecuador, Texas, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Florida, North Carolina, Oklahoma, New Orleans and numerous home-builds for combat veterans returning from service. Local 79 is proud to be part of an organization that continues to keep alive the legacy of the World Trade Center emergency response.

Attention Local 79 Members:For your safety and security, it is imperative that you always carry proper identification on the jobsite. There are certain contracts in which Local 79 members are required to have a 79 I.D. and a union book present. If you are caught without having proper identification, you can be removed from the jobsite.
Recently you should have received a post card containing information regarding contacting the Funds. While the card lists several ways for you to do this, I would strongly urge you to use email since the Funds' Office is receiving a very large volume of phone calls.
