Members should also note the following: If you are unemployed at the time you receive your holiday check (typically late November or early December), please be aware that this is not vacation pay in the traditional sense of the term; rather, it is money you have earned during the past year that his been contractually held back until the holiday period. Consequently it is a mistake to respond affirmatively that you received vacation pay during the week that you received the check and are claiming benefits.
