Government regulations continue to change to address the winter surge of the coronavirus. In response, New York State has announced a new measure until January 15th that has required us to update our office policy. All Local 79 staff are 100% vaccinated and all entering the union hall must also provide proof of vaccination as detailed below. We share your frustration and will continue to update you with any future changes:

In order to be in accordance with government regulations, it is the policy of Construction & General Building Laborers Local 79 (“Local 79”) that all current staff employees and visitors to our offices be fully vaccinated. In addition, all employees and visitors are required to present proof of their full vaccination prior to entry to Local 79’s office.

“Fully vaccinated” is defined as 14 days past an individual’s last vaccination dose in their initial vaccine series (14 days past the second shot of a two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine; 14 days past the one-shot Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine).

Proof of vaccination may be provided through a copy of a vaccination card, or via NY Excelsior Pass, CLEAR Health Pass, or the NYC COVID SAFE app.

Any employee or visitor who is unvaccinated and/or does not provide proof of full vaccination will not be granted entry to Local 79’s office.

This policy is in accordance with all New York State and New York City laws and regulations, and is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local health authorities, as applicable.
