Local 79 celebrated its newest journeyworkers on the 20th anniversary of the founding of our apprenticeship program. New York State Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon spoke highly of our newly graduated apprentices, proclaiming that “they represent the future of New York City.” Commissioner Reardon advised the graduates to “Stand up for your union, show up for your union and vote for your union, because your union is what you invest in it.” Business Manager Mike Prohaska then led all graduates in the Oath of Membership for the Laborers International Union of North America. Congratulations to all graduates for all your hard-work and achievements as members of our union.
