Register for Albany Bus Trip!

Politicians are allowing powerful developers to use 421a tax breaks to increase their profit. Local 79 will be demanding that developers taking advantage of these tax breaks pay union wages to the construction workers building these projects. All members attending will receive their Mandatory Participation credit and/or $25 and shirt & hat. Breakfast & lunch will be provided. When - Tuesday June 17th. Bus leaves at 6:30am and will return at approximately 6pm. Where – The bus will depart from outside Local 79’s office at 520 8th Ave, proceed to Albany so members can meet with elected officials, then return to 520 8th Avenue. Rally Alert: Protest Against Lettire Construction

Why: After having stolen millions of $$$'s from workers on previous jobs in New York City, Lettire Construction is trying to make a comeback in Brooklyn. Local 79 will be joining community groups in Brooklyn this Saturday to protest the presence of Lettire in the Flatbush community. Local 79 Health Fair

Join the members of Local 79 and their families for a fun-filled all-day outing. The fair offers members and their families the opportunity to receive health screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose) and get health-related information. Activities include swimming, basketball, volleyball, climbing walls, soccer, miniature golf, softball, raffles, dancing, and an all-day barbeque.
