Coney Island Walk 2019

Over 700 hundred Local 79 members and their families gathered on a beautiful day to participate in our Coney Island Walk & Family Fun Day that raised money for Tenders Inc. Members gathered near the Parachute Jump and then proceeded to proudly march down the boardwalk to Asser Levy Park. At Asser Levy, Members ate Nathan's hot dogs, received health screenings, played frisbee, and got a chance to see and talk with their fellow members. In the early afternoon, members departed to take advantage of their free Luna Park entrance wristbands which allowed four hours of free rides in the amusement park. [...]

Apprentice Graduation with Featured Speaker Jumaane Williams

Our April Membership meeting opened with over a hundred apprentices walking down the aisle and shouting in unison “Who are we? Seventy-nine!” to loud cheers and rounds of applause from their Local 79 brothers and sisters. Business Manager Mike Prohaska then led all apprentices in the Oath of Membership with all graduates swearing "to fight for the cause of all working men and women."
