  • Flushing Meadows Corona Park Cleanup -Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 8:00 am

    What: Join members of Local 79 to help clean up Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens.When: Sunday, June 14, 2026 –  Breakfast at 8:00 am. Cleanup project begins after breakfast. Lunch served after the cleanup is finished. Where: Take the #7 train to Mets – Willets Point station. Walk down the boardwalk and meet at the Passerelle Circle at the entrance to the park.   • Local 79 Apprentice Recruitment – Friday, July 10, 2026 at 9:00 am!!

    The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for Construction and General Building Laborers, Local Union #79, will conduct a limited recruitment July 10, 2026 to July 23, 2026 for 200 Skilled Construction Craft Laborer apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. The recruitment for JATC for Construction and General Building Laborers, Local Union #79 will be offered online from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., during the recruitment period (7/10, 7/13, 7/14, 7/15, 7/16, 7/17, 7/20, 7/21, 7/22 and 7/23/26), excluding legal holidays. This is a limited-application recruitment.
