Over 200 Local 79 members volunteered on Sunday, May 21 to help clean up Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. After a hard day’s work, Local 79 had laid a new stone path through a swampy trail, laid woodchips for children’s play areas and picked up trashed throughout the park. Local 79 members are proud participants in their communities and look forward to volunteering again in the future.
“To see such a large turnout of volunteers on the weekend is but one of many examples of our members’ dedication to helping out in the community” said Local 79 Business Manager Mike Prohaska. “We thank them for their time and effort.”
