Local 79 Volunteers to Clean Up Flushing Meadows-Corona Park

Over 200 Local 79 members volunteered on Sunday, May 21 to help clean up Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. After a hard day’s work, Local 79 had laid a new stone path through a swampy trail, laid woodchips for children’s play areas and picked up trashed throughout the park. Park Cleanup Weekend: Local 79 Volunteers Needed

What: Join members of Local 79 to help clean up Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens. When: Sunday, May 15: Breakfast at 9:00 am. Cleanup project begins at 10:00 am. Lunch served after the cleanup is finished. Where: Take the subway to the #7 Willets Point/Shea Stadium station. Walk down the boardwalk and meet at the Passerelle Circle at the entrance to the park.
