New Date!: Local 79 20th Anniversary Celebration and Health Fair

Bring your family and join other Join members of Local 79 and their families for a fun-filled all-day outing. The fair offers members and their families the opportunity to receive health screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose) and get health-related information. Activities include swimming, basketball, volleyball, climbing walls, soccer, miniature golf, softball, raffles, dancing, and an all-day barbeque. Where: Coleman Country Day Camp, Merrick, NY When: Saturday, June 4th, 2016

Hundreds Walk for St. Mary’s Hospital for Children

Over 500 Local 79 members went to Coney Island on the morning of September 19 to participate in a Walk for St. Mary's Kids, which raised over $10,000 for St. Mary's Hospital. Members gathered near the Parachute Jump and then proceeded to proudly march down the boardwalk to Asser Levy Park. At Asser Levy, members were greeted by a mobile Nathan's hot dog truck and the NY State Laborers' Health and Safety Bus.
