A letter was recently sent to all Local 79 members notifying them of eligibility and deadlines for applying for the Mason Tenders’ Scholarship Program sponsored by the Mason Tenders’ Training Fund. Its purpose is to encourage and assist the children of Mason Tenders’ to pursue their goals – to strive to be their best through advanced education. The Scholarship award provides $3,000 per year for a maximum of four years at an accredited four-year U.S. college or university. To qualify, the applicant must be a secondary school senior who will graduate during the current academic year and who will enter College or University within a year after graduation and be either: A dependent child of qualified union members (e.g., Laborers Local 78 or Laborers Local 79) or a dependent child of a retiree who is receiving a pension from the MTDC Pension Fund during 2026 (Laborers Local 78 or Laborers Local 79)
