If you are an active or retired member of Local 79, you are automatically eligible to receive a $4,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefit provided by the National Income Life Insurance Company (NILIC). You do not need to fill out anything to be eligible to receive this benefit. The benefit is provided free of charge with absolutely no strings attached. However, if you fill out and send back the blue card that NILIC periodically sends out, a representative of the company will call on you to deliver the certificate, witness your beneficiary designation, and tell you about other insurance programs available to you.
