Body Shop Bill Passes in NYC Council
Thanks to the organizing of Laborers Fight Back activists, the Body Shop Bill was passed by the NYC Council by a vote of 40 to 2. This groundbreaking legislation will regulate unscrupulous contractors that take advantage of formerly incarcerated construction workers. HIRING HALL UPDATE Some buildings and jobsites have begun to require our signatory contractors to have a vaccinated workforce. To be called for these jobs by the Hiring Hall, members should update their job referral form by checking the covid vaccination option. The form can be filled out by coming to the office or visiting the eLocal portal on our website if you have access.
