Our union is strong because our predecessors' legacy and we promise to continue to fight for justice for nyc construction workers. Important Changes to the Legal Services Plan Effective September 1, 2022
The Board of Trustees of the Local 79 Legal Services Plan announce the following changes to the Plan, effective September 1, 2022. The Plan will provide benefits for immigration and naturalization services without an annual cap on hours. The current sixteen (16) hour cap will be removed. REPLACE YOUR SST CARD WITH A CITY-REQUIRED “TRAINING CONNECT” CARD!
If you are currently holding a valid SST card, the city now requires you to get that card replaced with one of the new “Training Connect” Site Safety Training Cards (see above). The new cards are available now at the Training Fund facility in Long Island City. You can get your card replaced Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Do it now and avoid the long lines.
