Local 79 20th Anniversary/Health Fair Huge Success!

Nearly 1000 Local 79 members and their families enjoyed a sunny day full of fun, food, family, and friendship at Local 79's 20th Anniversary Party and Health Fair at Coleman Country Day Camp. Nurses, provided courtesy of the NYS Laborers, carried out health screenings, health care vendors gave out information and giveaways, and members and their families enjoyed an all-day BBQ, swimming, pony rides, inflatable slides, raffles for a variety of prizes, and much more. A great day was had by all!

New Date for Local 79 20th Anniversary Celebration and Health Fair: Saturday, June 4th

Join  members of Local 79 and their families for a fun-filled all-day outing. The day will offer members and their families the opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of Local 79, receive health screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose) and get health-related information. Activities include swimming, basketball, volleyball, climbing walls, soccer, miniature golf, softball, dancing, and an all-day barbeque. Walk for St. Mary’s Kids/Coney Island Family Fun Day on September 19th

On Saturday, September 19, Local 79 is sponsoring a Walk For St. Mary's Kids/Coney Island Family Fun Day. The day begins at 10:00 am at West 19th Street and the Boardwalk on Coney Island and includes a walk, food, t-shirts, health screenings, soccer, and admission to Luna Park. All attendees are required to purchase wrist bands, which will be available in advance for $20 each at the Local 79 Hall and the September General Membership Meeting. Local 79 Health Fair is Huge Success

  Over 1,100 Local 79 members and their families came to Local 79's Health Fair at Coleman Country Day Camp on June 7 and enjoyed beautiful sunshine, delicious food, non-stop music and activities, and a wide array of health screenings. The health screenings included blood pressure and heart rate readings, pulmonary tests, cholesterol and glucose screenings, and lots of information from various health care providers. Wristband sales to members for the Health Fair and the 50/50 raffle at the Fair will result in a contribution of $6,000 to St. Mary's Hospital for Children.
