Hundreds of Local 79 members and their families came to Local 79's Immigration Forum on April 6, 2014. Speakers included LiUNA General President Terry O'Sullivan, Local 79 Business Manager Mike Prohaska, LiUNA Assistant Director of Legislative Affairs Yvette-Pena O'Sullivan, Senator Charles Schumer, Congressman Joseph Crowley, NY State Senator Jose Peralta, NY State Assemblyman Francisco Moya, and four attorneys from Make the Road New York. Mike Prohaska opened the Forum by thanking Local 79's immigrant members for their contributions to Local 79, to New York City, and to the United States.
