Dozens of Local 79 members and their families volunteered their time on Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22 to clean up Wingate Park in Brooklyn and Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens. Projects included debris removal, trail maintenance and painting. New York City Parks employees were instrumental in identifying projects and providing the tools and equipment to get the job done. “To see such a large turn out of volunteers on the weekend is yet one of many examples of our members’ dedication to their communities,” said Local 79 Business Agent Luis Montalvo. “We thank them for their time and effort. ”
